The 2009 Abbeville Fete went off in glorious sunshine last weekend, attracting huge crowds to our corner of Clapham. Everyone seemed to have a great time.

A few scraps of information:

We don’t have a final fundraising total for the day yet, but it looks like it’s slightly down on 2008′s record of £17,000. Given the state of the economy, ‘slightly down’ is a massive success for us. Ou seven charities will be over the moon.

The Silent Auction actually took more money than last year—an extraordinary £5700. Top lot was the weekend for two in St Lucia, which sold for £1300.

The Pimms Bar got through a bottle of Pimms every 220 seconds, for four hours. The barbecue completely sold out.

There are some fantastic photographs of the day on the Fete’s page at Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/groups/abbeville-fete/pool/. If you’ve got any of your own, please add them. If you recognise anyone, add note, a a tag or a comment.

Huge thanks to everyone who volunteered, sponsored, donated, helped or came along.

See you all next year!
